Falken Tires wows racing fans at Red Bull Car Park Drift in Lebanon

Oct 03, 2016

The Red Bull Car Park Drift hit Lebanon on October 2 and we were pole position to witness all the action - both on and off the track. The exciting track, set up in the Port of Beirut, saw large containers, forklift trucks and barrels defining the drifting course, with drivers challenged to complete a figure of 8 between two forklifts, a figure of 11 in between barrels and tip the clipping point hanging by a suspended container.

Sixteen drivers made it on to starting line-up - Fadi Boustany, Kifah Hilal, Fouad Mexacy, Bahaa Abdel Hadi, Mohammad Baalbaki, Mashaal Kawkab, Abed Kahwaji, Ahmad Karaki, Elias Fakih, Oliver Kik, Bilal Dabboussi, Bassam Zahalan, Paul Khawand, Mohammad Hammoud, Carlos Awad and Rony Asmar - before being cut down to 8 in the second round and later 4 for the third and final rounds.

The drifting action was spectacular and the crowd was fully immersed from the start, cheering all the drivers as they showcased their extreme driving skills. Ahmad Karaki ultimately emerged triumphant with Fadi Boustany in second and Abed Kahwaji in third.

Away from the track, our Falken Tires’ booth gave spectators the chance to polish up their own driving skills on one of two PS4 gaming consoles with racing seats. Visitors tested their mettle on racing simulator game Project CARS to see if they could handle the fast and furious pace that motor racing demands. Visitors to the stand were also rewarded with goodie bags that included discount vouchers for purchases of Falken Tires.

After such a fantastic day in Lebanon we can’t wait to see what action the next event in Morocco on October 8 will throw up. We’re buckled up with our engines raring to go! Come and find our Falken Tires’ booth at the Red Bull Car Park Drift at Morocco Mall in Casablanca.
