Falken Tires witnesses the dramas of Red Bull Car Park Drift in Cairo

May 24, 2017

Pulsating and action-packed is the only way to describe the second event of the Red Bull Car Park Drift 2017 series. Taking place in Cairo on May 19th at the Tulip Hotel, Falken Tires, together with a 3,000-strong crowd, was immersed in the drifting dramas of the day.

While 16 of Egypt’s finest drifters began the event, all vying to be crowned the nation’s new King of Drift, the field was eventually whittled down to an exciting contest between a final four. Haitham Samir, Youssef Joe, Sayed Abou Ghareeb and Ahmad Hamada pitted their driving skills and nerve against each other in the final contest of the night.

For Youssef Joe and Haitham Samir, the top spot wasn’t to be. Surprisingly it wasn’t the tricky track that was their downfall, but their cars, both of which broke down. Sayed Abou Ghareeb and Ahmad Hamada skilfully manoeuvred their vehicles around the twists, turns and tests that the course demanded, and it was Hamada who ultimately emerged triumphant.

Having performed impressively throughout the contest, Hamada’s win was wildly applauded by motorsports fans at the venue. Among those cheering in the crowd were some lucky winners of our Facebook competition, two lucky entrants received couple’s tickets for the grandstand.

Another of our Facebook followers won an even more thrilling experience, a co-pilot ride with drift legend Abdo Feghali, as well as two ‘Friends of Red Bull’ passes.

Our booth at the event was also well-stocked with goodies for the motoring enthusiasts in attendance. Throughout the course of the day, we handed out over 800 goodies bags, each packed with branded gifts including caps, towels, keychains, stickers and discount coupons, offering 10% off purchases of Falken Tires.

The drift season is now taking a short hiatus until August 13, when Kfarsebian, Lebanon will play host to the next challenge, but we’ll be keeping our wheels turning, ready to roar when the action resumes.
