Team FALKEN Motorsports’ BMW M6 GT3 finishes 8th overall in the 45th ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race Nurburgring

May 29, 2017

We are pleased to announce that Team FALKEN Motorsports’ BMW M6 GT3, outfitted with high-performance FALEN tires, finished 8th overall in the 45th ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race Nürburgring (commonly known as the 24-Hour Race Nürburgring), one of the largest touring car races in the world. This year’s 24-Hour Race Nürburgring was held from Thursday, May 25 to Sunday, May 28 in Nürburg, Germany.

This year’s race got off to a good start beneath clear and sunny skies. However, conditions changed dramatically over the course of the race, from the drastic change in road temperature between daytime and nighttime to the sudden downpour that came just as the race was entering its final stretch. Through it all, our FALKEN tires fully demonstrated their high overall performance, especially in terms of durability and dry/wet grip. As a result, Team FALKEN Motorsports’ BMW M6 GT3 was able to place 8th in this year’s 24-Hour Race Nürburgring, a race that is generally considered to be difficult to complete, much less win. Unfortunately, Team FALKEN Motorsports’ Porsche 911 GT3R was forced to retire from the race due to an accident after it came into contact with another vehicle.

[About 24-Hour Race Nürburgring]
Taking place at the Nürburgring, which is also famous as an R&D test track for automobile and tire manufacturers, this 24-hour endurance race is considered by many to be the world's toughest race. At 25km per lap, the race makes use of the Nürburgring's full course, combining the North Course (Old Course), which features an elevation difference of 300m between its highest and lowest points and around 170 corners (including blind corners), and the more modern Grand Prix Course, which was also used for F1 racing.
