HISTORY
In 1983, Falken was created as high performance brand of OHTSU Rubber & Tyre in Japan.
Falken followed a conservative marketing approach, introducing product slowly, winning races in its homeland which demonstrated the company's technological capabilities early on, and then, when ready, expanding into new markets, launching tyres that fit the personality of targeted drivers – those who relished the association with a winning brand.
In 2003, OHTSU Rubber & Tyre was merged into Sumitomo Rubber Industries, the world's 6th largest tyre manufacturer, and became their global and strategic tyre brand.
